“MARITIME LABOUR CONVENTION 2006 (MLC2006) COME INTO FORCE ON 20 AUGUST 2013”
Since the Maritime Labour Convention, 2006 (MLC 2006) was adopted by the International Labour Organization (ILO) in February 2006. On August 20th, Philippines become the 30th country to ratify the MLC2006, in which means the MLC 2006 has been ratified by 30 countries representing more than 33% of the world’s gross tonnage. And now there are now exactly 10 months left until the new Convention enters into force.
It’s about the time gear up and get prepare for the MLC2006!
The MLC2006 Road Show in Sibu, Sarawak, Malaysia was successfully orginazied by Malaysia Marine Department, Malaysia Shipowner’s Association (MASA), and the National Union of Seafarers of Peninsular Malaysia (NUSPM) on 17th October 2012.

NEW LAUNCHING IN MAY – 30M TUG BOAT
New launching of 30M Tug Boat in May, 2012. She is classified by NK. Powered by two untis of Mitsubishi S6R2-T2MTK3L, 759KW@1406RPM engines. She reached speeds of up to 11.7knots during the official sea trial.
“7000DWT SELF-UNLOADING CEMENT BARGE/ PNEUMATIC CEMENT CARRIER”
The 7000DWT Self-Unloading Cement Barge/ Pneumatic Cement Carrier was successfully launched and completed in the December, 2011.
“SSSA CHINA EXPEDITION TRIP – PRESS CONFERENCE”
Sarawak and Sabah Shipowner Association (SSSA) successfully organized an expedition trip to visit Shanghai International Marinetec, Shipyards & Manufacturers in China from 25th November, 2011 until 02 December, 2011.
As Technical Advisor of Sarawak and Sabah Shipowner Association (SSSA) and Advisor of this expedition trip, our Director Mr. Wong Tuong Keng was attending the press conference on 5th December, 2011 in Sibu, Malaysia.

45.5oM LANDING CRAFT – OFFICIAL SEA TRIAL
A proven design from Lloyd’s Register (LR) of 45.50M Landing Craft from United Ship Design, Malaysia.
The vessel was successfully carried out its officially sea trial dated 16th September, in Miri High Sea, Malaysia. The Official Sea Trial was found satisfactory by both Owner, LR Attending Surveyor, and Builder. The vessel will be operated in U.A.E.

A 40 TONS BOLLARD PULL TWIN SCREW TUG
Completed in August, 2011. The 35M Twin Screw Tug already undergo its official sea trial and found satisfaction on the vessel’s overall performance. It can reach 11 knots during the seal trial.

“MPA – PORT MARINE CIRCULAR NO.02 OF 2011”
Please note the following:
New recommendations to the rules for vessels navigating through the strait of Malacca and Singapore have been made. (please refer to MPA – Port Marine Circular No.2 of 2011 and MSC 88/26/Add.1 Annex 12)
Effective 1st July 2011 onward, “Three all-round green lights in a vertical line” of Navigation Light to be installed for all vessels above 300GT and 50M in length or more, which will be exhibited by vessels as night signal to indicate its intention to cross the Traffic Separation Scheme (TSS) and precautionary areas in the Singapore Strait not restricted to Singapore Flag. It enables other vessels in the appropriate lanes to take actions if required and hence enhance navigational safety.

DRAFTSMAN
Responsibilities:
1. Design work & Drafting;
2. Modify and update drawings on accordance with engineer mark-ups and specifications on existing drawings;
3. Create new drawings from hand drawings and conceptual ideas;
4. other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
1. Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent (SPM or Senior 3)
2. Ability to communicate verbally and written.
3. Able to work independently and as a team.
4. Required Languages: English, Mandarin & Bahasa Malaysia.
5. Working knowledge of CAD tools and computer literate.
6. Experience in architecture, engineering, or manufacturing drafting is preferred.
